Request Data Deletion

Learn how to request deletion of information associated with your use of the Green Bin mobile app.

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Green Bin does not require users to create an account. Because most information is stored using request identifiers or pseudonymous identifiers, Green Bin may need additional details to locate records connected to your request.

How to Request Deletion

To request deletion of data associated with your use of Green Bin:

  1. Email mallela.rakshan@gmail.com .
  2. Use the subject line Green Bin Data Deletion Request.
  3. Include any information that can help identify the relevant records.
Helpful information may include:
  • A Green Bin request ID
  • The approximate date of a scan or feedback submission
  • The scanned item or corrected item name
  • A description of the feedback you submitted

Do not include unnecessary passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, medical information, or other sensitive personal information.

Green Bin will review deletion requests and respond within a reasonable period. Additional information may be requested only when it is reasonably necessary to locate the relevant records or verify the request.

Data That May Be Deleted

When the relevant records can reasonably be identified, Green Bin may delete:

  • Closed-testing feedback
  • Corrected item information
  • Recognition, guidance, and diagnostic context associated with submitted feedback
  • Other server-side records that can reasonably be connected to the request
  • Support emails when they are no longer needed to process or document the request

Data That May Be Retained

Certain information may not be deleted, or may be retained for a limited period, when:

  • Green Bin cannot reasonably determine that the information belongs to the requester
  • The information has been anonymized or aggregated
  • It is needed for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, rate limiting, or troubleshooting
  • It is required to comply with a legal obligation or resolve a dispute
  • It remains temporarily in service-provider logs, backups, or disaster-recovery systems

Residual copies may remain until the normal backup or log-retention process of Green Bin's service providers is completed. These copies are not intentionally used for normal app operations.

Derived recognition caches, image fingerprints, embeddings, guidance caches, and hashed scan-limit records may be retained when Green Bin cannot reliably connect them to the person making the request.

Data Stored on Your Device

Recent scans, image references, the installation identifier, scan-limit information, and related app data may be stored locally on your device.

You can remove locally stored information by:

  • Deleting recent-scan records inside Green Bin
  • Clearing Green Bin's application storage through your device settings
  • Uninstalling Green Bin
Deleting a recent-scan record removes the history entry, but it may not delete the original image from your camera, photo library, or other device-managed storage.

No Green Bin Account Is Required

Green Bin does not currently allow users to create accounts. Therefore, there is no Green Bin account that must be deleted separately.

A request applies only to information that Green Bin can reasonably locate and associate with the details you provide.
